Four Salesperson Archetypes: Sovok, Hunter, Host, and Expert

Four Salesperson Archetypes: Sovok, Hunter, Host, and Expert

This concept describes the second half of the typology from the AI salesperson commercial website model. First, the type of sales situation is determined, and then the appropriate salesperson role.

These archetypes do not form a "bad → good" scale. These are four different functions.

Sovok / Fulfillment Clerk

Serves already formed demand. The buyer knows what they want, and the salesperson needs to quickly answer a simple question, confirm conditions, and help complete the deal.

The main value is speed, low cost, and the absence of unnecessary interference.

Hunter

Works with weak or unformed demand. Their task is to notice an opportunity, engage the person, help them formulate a need, and bring interest to a commercial action.

The pathological form of the Hunter is the hard-seller, who maximizes the current deal against the buyer's interests.

Host

Works where the buyer returns. Their assets are memory, context, trust, and understanding of the relationship history.

They optimize not only current conversion, but also LTV, retention, and the quality of long-term interaction.

Expert

Works with complex choices where the buyer is unable to independently and reliably evaluate options.

Their task is to ask the right questions, find real constraints, cut off unsuitable solutions, and reduce the risk of error.

The Expert is usually more expensive than the other roles, so they should only be used where knowledge creates additional value.

The basic correspondence of these roles to the four types of sites is analyzed in «Four types of commercial websites require different AI salespeople».

A single agent can switch between roles, but this does not negate the need to understand the cost of each mode: the cost of the salesperson must match the point of sale.

Return to the big picture: The AI salesperson changes the nature of the commercial website.
